What Do These Vitamin And Folic Acid Levels From The Blood Test Result Indicate?
I had blood drawn at a routine physical and my vitamin D was a little low at 28.6. My folic acid was high at 25.8 and my mpv was high at 12.1. I am a healthy 33yr old but wanted to know if these values indicate something serious or if it s ok. My doctor only recommended a vitamin d pill. Should I be worried?
Hello. Thanks for asking on healthcaremagic. Your vitamin D is slightly low. Kindly keep some exposure to sunlight daily as sunlight UV rays cause synthesis of vitamin D under the exposed skin. MPV slightly high indicates slightly larger size of platelets which again is ok as long as platelet count is ok. It indicates active production from bone marrow. Folic acid is ok too. Should not be deficient. Hope i helped you out. Thanks.
