What Do Tingling Sensation And Itching On The Soles Of The Feet Indicate?

Suddenly having tingling and terrible itching on the soles of both feet -- thought I was allergic to foot cream or something, but now I am worried it might be the first signs of diabetes. Will blood work answer this question? and if I start to watch my sugar and carb intake, will it go away and not get worse???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I would suggest that you do a glycated hemoglobin for HbA1c, which will show glucose levels for 3 months. Also do fasting glucose and post prandial glucose. Keeping glucose levels stable will help to stop the damages caused by neuropathy and reverses some that have just happened.

Hope this clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
