Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For about 5 days now I ve been sick with a flu and the cold. I had the worst migraine which is still lingering with every move I make. My concern though is the score throat I have. I noticed that there are these white things at the back of my throat. I m worried. Should I go see my doctor or is this a symptom of the score throat itself?
Good morning. Sorry to hear about your illness. The symptoms which you are describing suggest that there are exudates on your tonsils or pharynx. This condition is called follicular tonsillitis. Your migraine is worsen due to this infection. If were your treating doctor I would 1) Start antibiotic penicillin group preferably amoxicillin/clavulanic acid combination. ( if you are not allergic to penicillins). This needs doctor prescription. 2) Take some anti inflammatory like Ibubrufen. 3) Drink plenty of fluids and take rest. keep yourself hydrated. this is very important. 4) Eat soft food. Don't eat spicy food 5) take some decongestant to relieve throat swelling. I would like to review after one week. During this time if your symptoms worsens, or you can't eat or drink because of pain or nausea, it is highly recommended that you go to hospital to take IV fluids and see ENT doctor. I hope this will be helpful to you.
