Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mom had some blood work done recently. She was concerned because her platelet count was 132, neutrophils was high at 78 and her lymphs were low at 13. But the dr didn t really tell her what that meant so she didn t know if she should be concerned or not.
Hello Normal platelets count is 150,000 -450,000 / cmm . In your mother case it is 132000 ( in my opinion) . Normal neutrophils is 50-70, while lymphocyte is 25-50 . In your mother case all readings are nearly normal and sometimes this type of variation may be due to anxiety , fear , tension , old age ( in itself). At present you should not worry . After 15 days (if worried 7 days ) get in blood examination ,provided if has any other symptoms of any illness. Good luck.
