What Does this Cervical Cone Biopsy Result Mean?
my cervical cone biopsy came back with the following results
A - from main part of cervix - Low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (CIN I) with HPV changes
B - Posterior lip of cervix - A small focus of high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (CIN II) at the transformation zone. Low grade lesion with HPV changes in the rest of the squamous epithelium
A&B - Mild HPV changes were present at ectocervical excision margins of both biopsies. No significant dsyplasia is seen at the margins.
What does this mean?

In case of mild cervical dysplasia,no treatment is required but follow up is recommended, because there is a 12–16% chance of progression to more severe dysplasia.
If HPV Infection is positive with genotypes 16 and 18,frequent follow up and colposcopy may be required to see whether further treatment is required.
But a small focus of high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (CIN II) at the transformation zone is present,so immediate treatment is recommended for you.
