Hi! Am 39, Female. suffering from left leg pain past 2 weeks. MRI reveals Transitional L5 vertebra. Diffuse posterior bulge with postero-central protrusion of L4-5 disc compressing thecal sac. Diffuse posterior bulge with left foraminal protrusion of L3-4 indenting left exiting nerve root and causes narrowing of neural foramina. What is the course of treatment recomended?
Thank you for your question on HCM. In my opinion you are having pain due to nerve root compression. The treatment is as follows. 1. Weight reduction if you are over weight. 2. Avoid heavy weight lifting. 3. Avoid bad postures during sitting and sleeping. 4. Good physiotherapy needed. 5. Apply lumber support belt. 6. Hot water massage at pain site. Consult orthopedic surgeon and discuss future surgical options.
