What Does Fentanyl Quantification: Positive 89.270 Mean?
I recently had a uds and have been on this medication for a long time and never tested positive as far as I know but I have been released from my current pain mgt doctor for violating my contract. I managed to get the results and the only thing I would think violated it was this: Fentanyl Quantification: positive 89.270 and Norfentanl Quantification: positive 352.056. What does that mean?
Hi fentanyl is a powerful pain reliever used for treating patients suffering from moderate to severe pain, whether from injury, illness, or post-surgery. It is also prescribed to those suffering from chronic pain . Side effects of fentanyl include such symptoms as euphoria, sedation, etc. Due to its effects, fentanyl was widely abused in the past and continues at present also. Nor fentanyl is a major metabolite of fentanyl secreted in urine. Abuse of fentanyl and nor fentanyl can cause a out of range results for the dosage and route you are taking the drug and hence show as positive. These drugs are purely for treatment purpose and side effects should never be relished or taken as means of pleasure by the patients. So to check whether the patient is sticking to the rules of pain management by these drugs and not using for addiction/pleasure purpose Urine drug test is monitored for them. For you it showed a positive test which indicates drug abuse by you and so your doctor took that step.
