What Does Lvef 20% After A History Of Heart Attack Suggest?
hi doctor my father has suffered from two heart attacks one was on 13 may 2009 his lvef was 33% at that time,next haert attack was on 6 april 2010 his lvef was 25%, few days before his lvef was20% .

Your father's ejection fraction 20% i actually low.
It have decreased from his heart attacks, as after a heart attack some part of the heart starts to contract weaker.
The major complication of low ejection fraction is heart failure.
There are medications available for patients with heart failure and ischemic heart disease, which prolong life expectancy and increase quality of life.
So I would advise your father to take the medications regularly and follow healthy lifestyle.

hi,lvef means left ventricular ejection fraction it says that how much heart can pump blood out,normal percentage will be around 55 percent
you need to take your father regularly to a cardiologist and take medications as per his advise best way to do is believe your doctors recommandation and follow them
your father need to avoid work which will increase his stress lavels,temeber as the lvef is low there is chance of accumulating fluid in lungs
always remember the danger signs breathlessness and decreased urine output call emergency service imediatley
ask hom to sleep which ever condition he feels comfortable have a look once at night while he is sleeping if he is having any discomfortable please ask him
bottom line follow ur cardiologist advise,ask him to take medications as per advise and consult your doctor once in 15 days
