What Does POD. Mild Fluid Collections Noted In Posterior Cul De Sac Mean?

A non gravid anteverted uterus with homogeneous myometrial echo pattern.there is no evidence of cyesis.no mass,or myoma noted within or outside the uterine cavity.sonographic features are consistent with that of acyesis. its also says POD.mild fluid collections noted in the posterior cul-de-sac

hi..welcome to healthcare magic,, POD is pouch of douglas, small area in pelvis behind uterus. fluid accumilations start with filling of cul-de sac. Mild fluid collection in posterior cul de sac indicates that you must have ovulated which is normal. accumilations during non ovulatory periods may indicate some pelvic inflammatory diseases. In most of the cases, it shows the post ovulatory state and hence there is nothing to worry about. good luck.
