What Does PSA Level Of 1.2 Indicate?

Had prostate cancer in the past and had radiation no surgery. Latest blood test psa came back as 1.2; however over the last week have been going to the bathroom about every two hours all night. Worried that this might be the cancer coming back. Your suggestive course of action would be extremely helpful.

Hi,

PSA levels of 4.0ng/mL and lower is considered as normal.

The reason why you could be having increased frequency of urination could be due to underlying urinary tract infection.

Kindly get your urine tested for culture and sensitivity test and consult Urologist with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
