What Does TLC 15.70,RDW 14.70,neutroplils 10.11, Monocytes 1.48 Signify?

my son was treated for typhoid in oct and taking orflox 200 for 4 weeks. however he was admitted and treated in MAX for liver and other disformalities and gastro case last month. He came back with normal reports but now again today he is again diagonosed with TLC 15.70 and RDW 14.70 neutroplils 10.11, monocytes 1.48 he was under pantop 40 since discharge ie 30th of Dec.2013 Sir, Kindly advice.

hello and welcome to HCM,
The blood report suggests presence of infection leading to increased white blood cell counts.
Monocyte count is slightly.
The increase in WBC is most probably due to increase in neutrophil levels.
Neutrophils are main cells which are increased in bacterial infection.
Accompanying decreased monocytosis can be secondary to the increased neutrophils.
RDW is the parameter which estimates the variation in the shaped to red bleed cells.
In your case, the RDW is within normal range.
Consult your treating doctor at the earliest.
