What Does TSH Level 4 During Underactive Thyroid Suggest?

Hello. I went to my general practitioner for symptoms that greatly resemble an underactive thyroid. I took the blood test, my TSH level is 4. They said it s completely normal. Everything else is perfect. I still feel not well, and it s not just one symptom. Most of the symptoms. I am 31 years old, never had a child. I honestly don t know if I should see a specialist. Please let me know if this tsh level is nothing to worry about, because my symptoms are really going on many many years. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.

TSH level 4 is within normal range. However if you are symptomatic and doubt that you might be having hypothyroidism then FT4 & FT3 levels can clear this. Consult your doctor for further advice.

Hope this helped. Do let us know.
