What Does USG Report Mean?

I, Sri Durgam Debnath, age 43+ Yrs, Male, of Durgapur , West-Bengal, based on USG report on 05/08/2012, I have a Boderline hepatomegaly with an elongated hyperechoic SOL (39mm X 10mm) at right lobe of liver - haemangioma vs granuloma. What is it ? and future treatment of it.

Thanks for writing in.

Your ultrasound scan shows a 39 x 10 mm area in the liver which by imaging is most likely a benign tumor (harmless). However because of its size I suggest you to get CT scan abdomen (triple phase ) to confirm that it is harmless. Such a tumor does not require any treatment immediately. You may get repeat ultrasound scan every 6 moths or yearly and then watch for any further significant growth.
