What Does A Blood Pressure Reading Of 145/112 Indicate?

I have a client with whom I work who has a blood pressure of 145/112, flank pain, increased blood sugars despite careful diet and monitoring (and using insulin). The blood pressure concerns me, and I am worried she may have kidney failure. What specialist should I request that her doctor refer her to?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a physician and get evaluated. The blood pressure is a bit on the higher side. It is better to start on antihypertensives to prevent further worsening.

An ultrasound abdomen can be considered to rule out any possible kidney injury, even though it is unlikely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
