What Does A Dry Patch Of Skin On The Body Suggest?
I have an almost perfectly circular dry patch of skin approximately 1/2 inch in diameter. The outer rim of the dry area seems to be slightly elevated campared to the center area. almost like a shallo crater. Ther is no pain or redness associated with the area.
Thanks for your query. The symptoms you describe in your query are indicating towards skin condition called tinea versicolor.Which is a fungal infection caused due to various reasons like frequent bathing with hard soap which remove natural protection of skin and make it prone to fungal infection ,weak immune system and use of some medicins like antibiotics.
I would suggest you to bath less frequently with mild soap, use anti fungal body wash, apply calamine cream as moisturizer, bating with neem tree leaves and yogurt will be extremely helpful.
If condition persists or get worse then consult dermatologist for proper examination and to rule out other conditions like allergy or eczema.He/she may prescribe you oral antifungal medicins or other medications depending on the condition.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
