What Does A Fluid Mass On Lungs Indicate?

My boyfriend was diagnosed with a fluid mass on lungs and had procedure to drain it for further determination. He has been coughing for 3 months, fevers, orange urine, headaches, no appetite and lost 40 lbs. What are the possibilities for diagnosis, and could I have contracted any of the options thru fluid exchanges?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to HCM
Thanks for choosing HCM for your query.
I have gone through the problems discussed in your question.
I am of the opinion that your boy friend is most probably suffering from tuberculosis of the lung and because of this the fluid mass has developed as a complication.

The fever and the orange colored urine could be due to one of the medications used in the treatment of TB.

Presence of fever, loss of appetite and significant weight loss of about 40 pounds are highly suggestive of tuberculosis.

Let him take a course of treatment may be for atleast 6 months, he will be alright thereafter.

Wishing your boyfriend a quick recovery.
Take care and reply with thanks if convinced.
