Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
about two years ago what I would call a medium size knot came up on my right side near the belly button. I though it was a hernia because of the pain and size. Went to the dr. had a sono, but nothing was out of place. it feels like a sponge. it now comes and goes gets bigger and smaller when it is larger the pain is terrible. last year the pain was so terrible I went to the ER. They did a CT it showed the colon, large and small intestine was inflamed and filled with fluid so the doctor treated me with antibiotics and the pain decreased after a few days. I am here 2 years after this all started and still having pain off and on.. any suggestions? This may be something that cannot be addressed here but I thought id give it a shot.
As per my clinical experience, the issue of lump near the navel ( provided the ultrasound is not showing any wall defect ), suggests possible sebaceous cyst of benign nature.
The episode of intestine inflammation was a separate incidence than this as per my understanding of the issue.
However, if the lump is visible over the surface, a photo picture of the same in follow up a conversation would be of immense help to guide further.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
