What Does A Stiff And Painful Bump On The Spine Suggest?

Hi, I have a stiff and painful bunp on my spine. It only hurts when I lean back on something or if someone touches it. I thought it was a black head or a cyst and tried to bring it to a head but nothing seemed to work. It is warm around around the area and it has been fluctuating in size throughout the last few weeks. I m not sure what to do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I appreciate your concern
Looking at your description this could be a sebaceous cyst, dermoid cyst a Lipoma or an abscess

If you can upload me a photograph, I will be able to guide you better
Aprt from.a photo I would like further information like your age and relevant medical history
Since how long you have this problem
Is it discharging pus or blood or no discharge at all?

In my opinion you should consult a general surgeon for physical examination and a surgical resection of it, if need be.

Hope this answers your question
Best wishes
