What Does A White Ball Like Vaginal Discharge After Threatened Miscarriage Indicate?

I just recently went to the emergency room with a threatened miscarriage. When they did the ultrasound they couldn t find a fetus, although the urine test proved the pregnancy. This evening I went to the bathroom to change my pad and there was a white ball about the size of a soft ball. Can you tell me exactly what that was?

Hello,

Threatened miscarriage is bleeding from vagina before 20 weeks of pregnancy without any evidence of fetal or embryonic demise. White ball like tissue might be fetal remnants or uterine tissues. You need to consult a gynecologist and have a scan done or ureteroscopy may be needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Richa Agarwal, OBGYN
