What Does Absence Of Foetal Heart Beat In 7 Weeks Indicate?

Hi am pavithra, am 30 yrs age..Now am 7 weeks 4days pregnant. doctor said that we hae not seen heart beat, come after 2weeks. is der any problem with the baby? and one more thing dr. suggested to take hald 200mg medicine,is it safe for the baby? THANKS PAVITHRA

Hi,

The medicine is given to support the pregnancy . It's a little tricky to find the fetal heart beat at times but it's the confirmatory sign of an alive fetus. It starts at 6 weeks and is seen on ultrasound a hundred percent at 8 weeks . So you should definitely have the follow up ultrasound.
