General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
At age of 13, with1st menses one year back. It's likely that menses can get irregular as the menstrual hormones are yet to attend a regular cyclical pattern. But her loss of weight give me concern. Please get her fully examined by a physician, followed by investigations to assessed. I fear for under nutrition, or infection that causes menstrual irregularity with loss of weight. She needs keen assessment of her general health. Consult an expert physician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
