It is very common to have compression of nerve when you have been involved in so many accidents over these years and that's what the cause of pain and numbness recently. As there is narrowing shown on the x-ray between 3rd and 4th discs. The next best test for your complaints is MRI. You will be suggested further treatment options after the MRI reports come. So far MRI is the best diagnostic modality for this and it is definitely better than Xray when it comes to issues related to nerves.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
