What Does An Increase In PSA Levels Indicate?

I have a friend who s PSA has gone from 10.5 to 16 and now is at 19. What do you think and how bad is it. 8 years ago the doctor talked him out of the surgery and just did radiations and he burned real bad. Then after about 6 years his PSA started to creep unti and for two years gave him hormone shots and it wasn t until two months ago that he finally sent him too an oncologist. How their finally sending him for more test but I think it s too late...opinion???

Hi and welcome to HCM.
This is not some significant increase howeevr, ultrasound and prostate biopsy should be done to rule out possible disorders. I am not sure why would someone choose radiation, instead of surgical removal of prostate for cancer. I think this should be removed even if there is no PSA elevation.
I hope I answered your query.
Thanks for the query. Regards.
