What Does Backache Along With Swelling In The Buttocks Indicate?
I thought I had just strained some muscle in my back in December. Off and on pain. Last week really began hurting while signing to sit or stand up but manageable. Last couple of days I can barely walk. Pain while flat on my back. Feels swollen or bruised in right buttock. Excruciating pain to get out of bed and stand straight. Almost numbing in hip and groin now. Who should I go see for help? Taking Diclofenac 75 mg twice a day but no real relief. Thanks
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You need to consult your doctor in the nearest medical center for clinical assessment as well as other routine tests such as X-ray of the back.Besides this you can benefit greatly from doing the following:
1- Rest your back, by avoiding any extreme physical activity until improvement.
2- You can use over the counter analgesics, such as Ibuprofen.
3- Apply topical drugs, such as a topical anti-inflammatory gel.
4- Apply cold compressors to your neck, allow the pain, swelling, and discomfort to resolve.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
