What Does Backache And Pain In The Left Arm Indicate?
I have been having pain in my back from the middle of my back down my left arm to my elbow, and also seems like gas under my shoulder blade. I have taken gas Medes, but not much relief? It causes pain mostly when I sit and lay down with my left arm down. What can I do?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You need to see a doctor and be evaluated for possible thoracic outlet syndrome. This is a condition in which nerves get trapped in the shoulder/back area. These nerves travel down the arm and can cause pain.
It could also be from cervical disc disease in the neck pressing on nerves. See a doctor for an evaluation. Physical therapy may be able to relieve your symptoms once you find the cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Kathy Robinson
