What Does Backache On The Left Side Indicate?

Hi. Im a 58 yr. old female. In good health except for this pain that comes every 4 to 6wks in my back on the left side after some type of activity. I have 3 children and this pain reminds me of child birth. It starts small and then grows stronger and then comes back down. Nothing relieves it. It goes for about 4 to 6 minutes and then Im fine.

General Surgeon 's  Response
You could be having a left renal or uretric stone. Please get an USG of the kidneys and urinary tract. CT Scan is also very good for diagnosis. Once the diagnosis is made you can consult a urologist who will advise you on the appropriate method of removal of the stone. During the abdominal USG, if you nave gall stones, that too can be detected and treated by a laparoscopic cholecystectomy by the G.I. surgeon.
