What Does Backache On The Right Side Indicate?

I am feeling back pain on my right side. This pain is only present when I go from sit to stand or bend over. It feels more like a stitch in my side than pain so to speak. I was wondering if metformin has some side effects that may be causing this. My doctor just increased my dose.

hi sir/mam,just relax its not due to metformin.your pain might be due to spasm of paravertebral muscles on that side.it may be due to abnormal posturing, trivial trauma, lumbar disc injury.i usually ask my patients to have rest and 1 week course of pain medication like tab.ibuprofen or aceclofenac in combination with a muscle relaxant like chlorzoxazone or thiocolchiside.if you have any kidney issues and if older than 60yrs,above medication is not preferrable.you can take tramadol with paracetamol combination twice daily for 1 week.if the pain persists or increases after 1 week, you can have an ortho consultation and get your MRI spine done.hope i'm clear.other queries if any, please do write to us.its my pleasure to assist you.thank you.take care.bye.
