What Does Bleeding One Week After Unprotected Sex Indicate?

I had unprotected sex on Aug 13th. He did break inside of me as far as I know AND I took posting 2 the next day. A week later I started bleeding & the bleeding lasted for 5 days and was like a regular period. However, its September and my period has not come and is 9 days late. I took a pregnancy test & it was negative and i have no signs of being pregnant. What can possibly be wrong?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Some disturbances in menstrual rhythm is common after taking hormonal pills. Since pregnancy test is negative after 9 days of missing, pregnancy is unlikely. Anyhow, if your cycles are not regular, it is better to repeat test after 1 week. If still negative and cycle doesn't ensue, kindly discuss with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
