Hi, I M Dr.Kumarbhargav
Consultant Pathologist
I understood your query
Regarding your blood group 'A' positive means your red blood cells have antigens of A and H on their surface and your serum contains opposite anti -B antibody.
This is inherited through blood group genes.
Now there are many blood group systems.
ABO blood group system is commenst that defines either A, B, AB or O group.
RH system defines whether you are positive or negative for it.
Apart from this there are many other blood group system others are like MNS, lutheran, kell, lewis, kidd, p and many more.
You also might have heard about Bombay blood group which is also rare blood group.
