What Does Blood In Phlegm Indicate?

i HAVE A SISTER WHO HAS RECENTLY BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH CHRONIC AIR WAVE INFLAMMATION FIBROSIS. SHE NOW SEES WHAT SHE BELIEVES TO BE BLOOD IN THE PHLEGM. THAT SHE IS BRINGING UP. SHE HAS AN APPOINTMENT WITH A Dr.the end of the month , I think this is way to long to wait. any thoughts?
