What Does Blood Pressure Reading Of 105/82 Indicate?
I am 70 year old woman healthy and taking part in boot camps to get a bit fitter. 3 mornings a week for 45 mins......jogs, and bit of lifting and general pt. My blood pressure this morning after session was 105/82 pulse 104.....1 hour after my pulse is remaining the same.....if this OK. Have 6 monthly med checks all ok
The normal range for the pulse is 60 to 100 beats per minute.
This means that a pulse rate of 104 is just above the norm but this is okay for just after physical activity. It would be expected, however, after an hour, that the pulse would have decreased somewhat if your level of activity decreased.
You should consider periodically checking the pulse over a 24 to 48 hour time frame to note where it lies, if it continues to be increased then you may need to see your doctor for assessment.
This assessment would consist physical examination, pulse and possibly an ECG. If the pulse is increased then a complete blood count to rule out anemia and thyroid function tests, would also be needed.
I hope this helps
