What Does Blue Discoloration On The Left Foot Indicate?

Hi, my sister has MS and this weekend her left foot turned blue. She went to the er and said that her blood flow is slower in that foot and nothing to worry about. Also she said her foot is very cold. She thinks everything is ok and I do not. Can you please give me some information as too what this might be. Thank you

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

A cold limb may suggest decreased blood supply. The possible causes are peripheral vascular disease or deep vein thrombosis etcetera.

Until the examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your doctor so that he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
