What Does Burning Sensation Around The Lips Be Treated?

Hello. I have had a red/swollen ichty/ burning sensation around the outside liner of my lips. I have caught it in an early stage and remember getting the same thing on a deployment on a close living quarter type area on a ship . Since then its been a while since Ive gotten it. It reapeared just 3 days ago. It stsrted out as dry lips and is now slowly spreading around the general area. Would neosporin or benidryl help if it is some type of peroiral dermatitis? The last time it happened I was given a pill unsure of what it was a a cream with silver in it. Unsure of the names or brands.
