What Does Chest Pain Along With Numbness In The Left Arm Indicate?
I am a 31 year old female. Today I had chest pain and left arm numb through out the day....in the night now I continue to feel these symptoms and also my left arm feels cold if left uncovered. I am otherwise healthy but have had hypothyroidism. For this continued chest pain and left arm numbness today, I have taken ibuprofen (twice) and pepsid AC for acidity (once).... what would you recommend to manage my symptoms?
Left-sided chest pain along with numbness in the left arm may be an indication of Myocardial infarction and needs proper investigation. Since you have already taken painkillers and antacids and still not relieved, it points towards a cardiac cause. You should visit an emergency room and get yourself assessed. They may advise you to get an ECG done and depending upon the findings of the ECG further course of action will be decided. It is very important to diagnose MI as soon as possible to save the loss of cardiac function.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma.amman
