What Does Chest Pain That Radiates To The Neck And Jaw Indicate?

Since the beginning of August I have been getting chest pain. The pain would feel like a lot of pressure. It will radiate to my my neck and jaw. I have had a full cardiac workup. Stress echo, blood work, CT. Everything came back normal. Now with the pain I feel like it is getting hard to take in a breath. I have nausea, burning in the upper abdomen that goes into the chest. I have been sweating and really fatigued. Any suggestions on what I should do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there. I have read through your question and can understand your concern. generally chest pain radiating to the neck and jaw indicates impending myocardial infarction. But as you said that you got your cardiac work up done so that possibility has been ruled out. You have also said that you are having nausea and burning in upper abdomen. So according to me you are suffering from gastro oesophageal reflux disaese. It is also the reason of your chest pain. I would suggest you to follow the following instructions-
1. Avoid oily and spicy food
2. Avoid eating anything two hours before sleep
3. Take light and bland diet
4. Take small meals at frequent intervals.
5. take a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole on empty stomach for a few days.
6. If you are still not relieved consult a gastroenterologist.
I hope I was able to answer to answer your question. if you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
