What Does Chronic Fatigue Along With Nausea And Backache Indicate?
Hello I have a few concerns. I recently found out that I have a positive ANA. I have been experiencing chronic fatigue, nausea, neck and back pain, headaches, and blurry vision. I had a few blood tests that ruled out lupus and a few other illnesses. My mom has MS and recently was diagnosed with neuromyletis optica. I had a MRI done in the past which showed that I have a bunch of herniated and bulging discs in my neck. Should I consider seeing a neurologist?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I am Dr Mittal. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I think you should meet a neurologist. The discs that your scan have shown need to be treated. These may be causing your neck and back pain directly. The related pain may be causing constitutional symptoms like weakness , fatigue and nausea. Associated muscles spasms can lead to headache. However, all this does not explain your blurred vision. So yes, I think you should meet a neurologist AND an ophthalmologist. I have tried to explain it to you as simply as possible.
Hope I have answered your query. Feel free to ask a follow up query if you need further clarification.
Best wishes,
Dr Mittal
