What Does Clicking In Ankle Suggest While Having Peroneal Tendonitis?

Hi I hope you can help. I m rejoining the army and suffer from way I thought to be peroneal tendonitis, physio has looked me over and believes that is the case, but due to clicking in my ankle and feeling movement of the tendons I believe I have subluxation at some level, whether it be movement over the ankle or the two tendons moving around each other like the physio thinks, which I still believe shouldn t happen? I ve seen there s different levels to this surgery keeping me out up until a year such as drilling away at the bone to make a groove for the tendons to sit into, but if it was as simple as repeating the torn sheath holding the peroneal a in place what sort of recovery time would I be looking at? I appreciate any help. Peter

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The usual period of recovery for narrated surgery is around 4-6 weeks maximum in usual cases. However, if you have recent MRI scan plates available with you, I can guide further precisely so far as clicking in ankle is concerned. But I can suggest that there is some sort of issue at gliding mecanics around ankle joint and bony erosion, secondary inflammation or else has to be considered as top priority.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
