Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My skin itches constantly. Feels like bugs are biting me.I have been to a dermatoligist and she recommended Dove non deoderant soap and only to take five minute warm showers. And rub myself down only in stinky areas with Cerave moisturing cream.I have done that and it does not work. I am 69 years old and I need something done.
According to what you have mentioned, your dermatologist must have considered the dryness of skin as a main reason for your itchiness. I would recommend you to maintain skin hygiene all over your body, including scalp. moisturize your skin frequently, avoid skin drying regimes, hydrate (3 liter water per day minimum).
Also, check if you are not deficient of vitamin D. Try taking vitamin C and zinc rich diets and also watch for any substances which may cause allergy. if you don't relieved of symptoms after following these for 1 month, other causes need to be investigated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nirali Thakkar, Pathologist and Microbiologist
