What Does Dark Oval Shadow In X-ray After Recovering From Toe Fracture Indicate?
Hi, my daughter 12 yr old just recovered from a small toe fracture. X ray after 5 weeks shows a dark oval shadow on the area of previous fracture. But the fracture has healed. I would like to know the reason for the dark shadow. What does it indicate? What are the investigations I should do further?
The dark black shadow can be an x-ray error and can be ignored if there are no signs and symptoms. If the fracture is healed there is nothing much to worry about. Focus on doing a simple range of motion exercises and strengthening exercises in low intensity.
In case your doubt still persisting then a CT scan can be taken.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
