What Does Disc Desiccation With Symmetric Disc Bulge And Disc Protrusion Mean?

I had a lumbar Mri this week and these are the findings--Left L5 laminotomy. Disc Desiccation with symetric disc bulge and superimposed small left subarticular/foraminal disc protusion. Mild end plate osteophytic ridging. these changes produce mild left neural foraminal narrowing and moderate left subarticular recess narrowing. the subarticular recess narrowing could potentially impinge upon the traversing left S1 nerve root Conclusion: Degenerative and post operative changes of the lumbar spine at L5-S1 as detailed above. Please correlate with the patients pain distribution.
