What Does Elevated Blood Pressure Levels In A 3 Year Old Indicate?
My 3yr oldgrandson has slightly elevated blood pressure he s had a urine test which was negative they re waiting for blood results and you also had a kidney scan that they re waiting for results however he gets constipated often is there a correlation
Most people think of high blood pressure, as a condition that affects older people. But It actually affects people of all ages -- including young children.
As in adults, high blood pressure in children can result in serious, long-term health effects, including heart disease, kidney disease and stroke.
Risk factors for high blood pressure in children include obesity and a family history of high blood pressure.
Other risk factors may include medical problems such as sleep apnea or other sleep disorders. Right now you will have to wait for the results and only the doctor will be able to tell you the exact diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
