What Does Elevated Blood Pressure Levels Indicate?

I tried to have my teeth pulled today, but my blood pressure was so high - 206/113. I took the Clonidine .3 and it just continued to rise; why? I couldn t get the tooth pulled because of it. I don t understand why it is going up instead of down? I need to get it down 911 to have my teeth done; any ideas? YYYY@YYYY

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Your blood pressure reading is very high.
It is considered as accelerated hypertension.
There might be associated illnesses like diabetes or dyslipidemia which is not allowing blood pressure to decrease.
So better to consult internal medicine specialist and get done blood pressure monitoring, sugar estimation and lipid profile test.
You will need regular blood pressure treatment to decrease your blood pressure.
Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Strict salt restriction in diet is also needed.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
