What Does Enlarged Liver With Coarse Ecotexture Suggest?

hi, my father is 70 years old, weight 64 kgs, height 5ft 4in. He has been diagnosed with large hetrogeneous lesion in the liver with vascularity. The enlarged liver has coarse ecotexture and the growth in it measures to 16.1*10.8 cms. The doctor ( surgeon ) didn't come today and we have no idea what this means. My father has lost lot of weight and is steadily losing weight. He refuses to go to the hospital again. Please tell me what this Sonography report means.

This ultrasound shows enlarged liver with coarse exhostructure which is a nonspecific findings,but in some cases it may indicate certain liver disorders

There are many causes of liver enlargement and treatment depends on exact cause.Most common cause is fatty liver. if this is caused by diet, obesity and diabetes then dietary and lifestyle changes will be beneficial in every case. Alcohol and viral hepatitis are most common causes and in this case medical evaluation is required.
Also if there is infectious disease or biliary duct disorders then you need to do some tests to rule out more serious issues which require specific medical treatment. In every case, if there are high liver markers then CT scan should be done as a next step which will reveal liver condition ore precisely.
