Hello,
As per my clinical experience, though the associated symptoms are needed to co relate any supportive radiology report to interpret the data, with limited information here, I can utter that:
-
Flexor tenosynovitis and
arthritis of subtalar joint must be considered post traumatic event if there is history of trauma to the local part
- Otherwise, age related degenerative changes must be considered in this case.
Following measures will help you for primary relief:
- Local application of heating pad
- Use spray or ointment containing linseed oil, Capsaicin,
Diclofenac etc
- Keep the leg elevated over support of 2-3 pillows when resting
- Prescription of anti-inflammatory medications with
analgesic properties as
Etoricoxib or else
- Assisted physiotherapy
- Intra articular injections of steroids as Kanacort or else, in selected cases
- Postural adaptations and supportive boot or brace
- Control of blood sugar to avoid secondary infection
- Control of body weight if BMI above 26
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
