Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had an MRI on my Right Breast - I had the left removed from a mastectomy in 2013 . I have extremely dense breasts so the mammograms & ultrasounds are virtually unreadable . I received a call from my oncologist this morning that the breast was clear but they spotted fluid on my lung - I have not had any recent infections, bronchitis etc. . He has ordered a chest CAT Scan . A just surviving breast cancer , I cannoy help but think the 2 are related but my Dr does seem to think so.
Since you have a previous history of breast cancer, there is a possibility about some metastasis of cancer in the lungs, which could have caused collection of fluid in the lungs.
CT scan could help in knowing what could be the cause. If it due to reactive cause, then it can be treated symptomatically. If it is due to metastasis, then appropriate treatment should be planned and implemented accordingly.
Kindly consult your doctor with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
General & Family Physician
