Hello and welcome to HCM,
High platelets mean increased number of platelets beyond the normal range as specified for age and sex.
Platelet count above 4.5 lakhs per cubic millimeter is considered abnormal.
Most common causes of raised platelets in infection, reactive conditions, etc.
When all these conditions are ruled out, other causes like
essential thrombocytosis and raised platelets due to neoplastic conditions are to be looked for.
MCH is one of the red cell indices and it is raised in cases of macrocytic anemias.
However, MCH can be interpreted better when assessed along with other parameters like MCV and MCHC.
Thus, post the value of other red cell indices also.
The gynecological problems mentioned by you- submuscular fibroids,
cervical dysplasia, estrogenic disturbances are not associated with high platelets and high MCH values.
Thanks and take care
