What Does Hypo Plastic Left Transverse Sinus Shown In MRI Mean?

Hi I have an accident 2 months ago after which I use to have headache on left frontal.region ,I reffered a doctor ,was advised to do MRI HEAD and hypo plastic left transverse sinus is seen on MRI , doctors says may be its long ago .. I m confused now was put on warfarin nd then stopped .. I still have headache wanna get a clear and satisfied medical advise please ... thanks

Thanks for writing in.

There are channels by which blood drains out of the brain. These are termed venous sinuses. There are two transverse sinuses at the back of the brain and for you the left transverse sinus is seen to be smaller in size on MRI scan. This is a normal anatomical variation. This appears confusing to the doctor and that is why probably you were put on warfarin. After confirming the variation in size, there is no reason to worry. It does not cause headaches.
