What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

I recently had an MRI which showed Visualized paranasal sinus and otomastoids are clear. There is partial opacification of the right inferior otomastoids. There is also trace opacification of several left mastoid air cells. The remaining paranasal sinuses and otomastoids are clear. Does this mean fluid in the ear or sinus? Is it likely an ear or sinus infection? If sinus, could it be caused by a recently placed dental implant that is protruding into my sinus? Thanks.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

This is a result of infection in the sinus and no it is not due to dental implant. It is obviously due to an old inflammation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
