What Does Hypo Plastic Sinusitis And Bilateral Frontal Sinusitis Indicate?
Hi sir, My sinus X-ray report is hypo plastic sinusitis and bilateral frontal sinusitis . What does it mean?I am a chronic sufferer of severe headache and green mucus from four years. I went through a FESS in feb 2011 but no result. Please tell me is there any cure for this?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of the X-ray report is as follows: There is evidence of inflammation of frontal sinuses both sides. This is responsible for headache especially in the morning. Green colored mucus discharge suggests presence of bacterial infection. A long history of sinusitis suggests chronic sinusitis. Chronic sinusitis is the cause of hypoplastic sinuses. Hypoplastic sinusitis refers to presence of atrophied and small sized sinuses.
You need to consult your ENT specialist for clinical assessment and to plan most appropriate plan of treatment since FESS is also not effective.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
