Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my father (age 69, 5ft 9 in, very active and in general good health. He is a smoker and drinks beer daily as well)has a tumor in his lung and also found something on the cat scan to lead them to think it may have traveled to the liver. They did a biopsy of his liver which came back inconclusive. Could that mean that there is no cancer in the liver.
Your father having history of lung malignancy .....
It can metastasize to other organs. ..CT scan suggestive its spread in liver ..
Report of biopsy (may probably FNAC) is inconclusive means more comment can't given according to prepared slide means no diagnosis can be given ... It doesn't suggest absent of metastasis ..
If clinical suspicion strong than CT scan guided biopsy can be taken for histopathological examination....
PET scan and bone scan done if needed for further work up...
Take care
Advise : Oncosurgeon consultation for further work up....
